1. We admitted we were powerless over ROCK, and that our lives
had become unmanageable. which is usually the fault of the
manager or not having one to blame or maybe somewhat from
our obsession with the 3 G's: Gigs, Gear, & Getting
a record deal. With
the Sex, Drugs, and ROCK life style you may have found that
you may be a combination Sexaholic/Rockaholix (and in that
case the 4th G would be "Getting Some"!) or a
Drug Addict/Rockaholix or even a Sexaholic/Drug Addict/Rockaholix.
2.
Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves (&
with a Rockaholix that's not easy) could restore us and our
careers, or come back careers as the case may be.
3.
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the
care of the ROCKIN' Higher Power... , even if only at first
to have more possibilities at getting or keeping a deal, keeping
the band together writing more hit songs, getting more air
play and choice gigs.
4. Made a searching & fearless moral inventory of ourselves
and our gear, to see if we really needed every little bit
of the gig. (& of course we do, in fact we're making a
list of new stuff we need!)
5.
Admitted to this ROCKIN' Higher Power... , to ourselves, and
to another human being, the exact nature of our wrongs- (excluding
band members... if doing so could possibly break up of the
band.)
6. Were entirely ready to have this ROCKIN' Higher Power...
remove all these defects of character, unless of course they're
a big part of the stage act, in which case we would only have
these defects while we're on stage.
7. Humbly asked our ROCKIN' Higher Power... to remove our
shortcomings &/or any curses given to us from X's: X-lovers
&/or groupies, band mates, agents, & managers. Other
than that, we at R.A. love x's that's why we made it Rockaholix
with an x which is so much cooler... don't ya think?
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, & became
willing to make amends to them all, even if it was a "one
night stand" somewhere on the road and we'd forgotten
their name or never gotten it in the first place.
9.
Made a direct amends to such people where ever possible, except
when doing so would injure them, others, or our careers by
doing it on stage , on talk shows, with band mates who could
break up the band , or to people who could possibility get
us a record deal &/or more air play or gigs.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were
wrong, promptly admitted it, unless it was to a club owner
who'd taken advantage of us &/or our band in the past
or a reviewer who totally did not get our music and took the
time to tell everyone about it, instead of just letting go
of being bitter about not writing their SciFi novel that aching
to come out and just writing it so that more rockers don't
have to suffer with a reviewer who reviews what they don't
like.
11.
Sought through prayer & meditation for more hit songs,
first take recordings, and for great solos on stage and in
the studio, in improving our conscious contact with our ROCKIN'
Higher Power... , praying for the will to practice safe rock
(especially by saving our ears by wearing ear plugs...
or at least using cigarette filters or T.P. when we forgot
our or lost them... again) and the power to carry out that
will.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these
steps, we do our best to carry this message to other Rockaholix
& to practice these principles in all our affairs, especially
ones on the road, encouraging us to get their name so that
we could make amends to them later. And if we have no intention
of raising kids we wear a condom... in fact wear more than
one... or better yet, get fixed.
