R U Ahhhhh Rockaholix:

The R.A.
Serenity Prayer:

ROCKIN'
Higher Power...
grant me the serenity
to see the best
in people especially when
they make it really hard to and
give us the good fortune
to hang with people
who make things fun and the wisdom to know that there is enough ROCK for everyone to ROCK ON -
so that we can all
ROCK ON together
in the name of PEACE!

The R.A. Watch Words
Of Our Faith:

Being lead to ROCK our ROCKIN'
Higher Power
shows us signs everywhere everyday
that we are all here
to ROCK ON &
to inspire others to ROCK ON
by allowing the love, light,
& freedom of expression -
that is at the essence of ROCK
and how it leads us all -
each in our own way -

to PEACE!

R.A. Affirmation:
I am a Rocker 4 PEACE –
a rockaholix who is healing
by allowing the force of ROCK
to heal me, my life, and all those around me.
Long Live ROCK!

R.A. Tools:
With the R.A. 12 Steps -
leading the way -
we can help other fellow Rockaholix as well as ourselves.
And YES! ROCK can be
practiced safely...
so we don't have to give up our addiction to ROCK
if we can follow the pathways to practicing
"Safe Rock"

R.A. Matto:
(best done as a rap)
Jazz feed the Funk –
Funk feel the soul
and ROCK has the heart
that makes us whole.

R.A. Conviction:
We can do it. We can save the planet
with the power of Rock.
Rock roots go deep – they are dedicated to Freedom of Expression - Free Speech is at the heart of ROCK and can lead us all to Peace through
the power of ROCK & YES...
ROCK IS THAT POWERFUL!
And let us always remember
the wise words of the
Rockin' Prophet...
Robert Plant:

"To be a ROCK and not to roll!"

Can't think of a band name?
Don't let arguing about it break up the band... CHECK THIS OUT - an on-line: band name program (http://www.bandnamemaker.com/)
And remember if you don't use them as band names... they might make good song names too. So keep making that list... as write down all the clever names you find.

is for any one who
is a rock star, has been a rock star, has been with a rockstar,
or wishes to be with a rockstar...
and especially - anyone who feels that deep down inside
they are a ROCKSTAR maybe just needs a little support...
so they can fully claim their inner rockstar who knows we are all
have inner rockstars that need to rock on.

NOW ASK YOURSELF HONESTLY -
ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH THE 3 G's?

1) GIGS, 2) GEAR, & 3) GETTING A RECORD DEAL

(If you are a combo sexaholic/drug adict rockaholix - you may also be obsessed with the 4th G which is GETTING SOME but you have to go to other meetings for that...
we just focus on our rock obsession at Rockaholix.)

Now take your time and honestly ask yourself these 4 questions:

1. Do you find yourself constantly checking: Musician Boards at music stores, Craigslist "Musicians" listings, the "Musicians Referral" sections of the local weekly (let me know if you know of any on-line ones that you would recommend) just in case you just might find your perfect band mates?

2. Within the first few minutes of meeting another musician are you talking about your influences or your gear... the gear you have, would like to have, once had, would like to get rid of, in case they are interested. You have to totally keep yourself from telling them why this gear/band is better than that one and that just may lead into which band or recording does or or doesn't
prove your point and why. Or you may just go ahead and tell them if it means that much to ya. But just in case you may be at a point in your life where you are working on yourself - to not be so opinionated cause it has broken up so many bands in the past. So now, you do your best to just think those thoughts secretly to yourself while you say something like... "Hmm... that's something to think about." knowing that it's something you can convince them of -
once the band gets going?

3. Do you find yourself alway
s having an ongoing thought process called: "That's a cool band name!" as a continuous subplot to your life - that means you are always thinking of it every few thoughts. And you actually have a real wrinkled up piece of paper with all the potential names written on it - where you add each new name. Then, when you are at the point when you have a band - finally - you pull out your list and well.. everyone pulls out their list and you can rarely agree on any of them? (Consider these band names as potential song titles... & which would be a good CD title tracks... so it's there when you feel like writing a new song.)

4. Do you find yourself wondering why they still haven't called your name at the Grammies while you watch them with the rest of your band who's just as surprised. Or you have it all together... if only you could find the right band they'd be calling your name right now?

(Which brings you back to #1 and so on and so forth -
like the blues brothers... always in search of "the band".)

For when the whole world ROCKS together
we shall know peace - a peace that ROCKS!
